Unlike traditional disciplines in engineering and the mathematical sciences, the fields address the role of the human decision-maker as key contributor to the inherent complexity of systems and primary benefactor of the analyses.

Jiachen Shi is a Ph.D. student in Operations Research at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. She received a bachelor's degree in Operations Research and a minor in Mathematics with highest honors at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is a recipient of the Stewart Fellowship award and the Alumni Fellowship award.
Jiachen is interested in the integration of optimization and data analytics in various supply chain domains. Her current research focuses on demand supply alignment optimization across sentient supply chain networks subject to high volatility and uncertainty.
