Building and Testing a CRM Database to Support Growth StrategyThe goal is to design, implement, and validate a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database that enables a small company to better understand its customers, streamline sales and marketing efforts, and support long-term growth.
1. Planning and Design
Identify business objectives: customer acquisition, retention, upselling, and improved service.
Define key data fields: customer demographics, purchase history, communication logs, lead sources, support tickets, etc.
Map workflows: sales pipeline stages, marketing campaigns, customer support processes.
2. Database Development
Build a scalable structure to store customer and lead information.
Integrate with existing tools (email, website, accounting, or e-commerce systems).
Establish user roles and access controls to ensure data security.
3. Testing and Validation
Conduct data migration tests to ensure accuracy when importing existing records.
Run functional tests on key features (lead tracking, automated reminders, reporting dashboards).
