About

Neelkamal Bhuyan is a Machine Learning Ph.D. Candidate advised by Dr. Debankur Mukherjee. His research focuses on movement-aware sequential decision making algorithms, with application in datacenters, wireless networks and cloud computing. He is the recipient of the Ed Iacobucci Research Excellence Award in Applied Probability & Simulation, the Nokia Bell Labs Outstanding Innovation Award, the Shabbir Ahmed Research Excellence Award in Optimization, the Alice & John Jarvis Best Paper Award (2nd place), and the Georgia Tech Algorithms & Randomness Center PhD Fellowship.

Alongside ISyE, he has academic collaboration with CalTech (Dr. Adam Wierman) and industry collaborations with Nokia Bell Labs (Dr. Murali Kodialam, Dr. Randeep Bhatia, Dr. TV Lakshman). He completed his Bachelor of Technology (with Honors) in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2022.
