Senior Design Finalist

RaceTrac, one of America’s largest private companies, operates over 650 gas stations across the Southeast. Due to incentive misalignments with their 3PL fuel carriers, RaceTrac faces high carrying inventory and costly on demand deliveries. The Senior Design team proposed the introduction of a new contract type that allows for better inventory management and delivery coordination. Expected benefits are an average inventory reduction of 40 percent and elimination of on demand deliveries, resulting in an estimated $8.5 million in savings.
