Yu Cao is a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, advised by Dr. David Goldsman. He received his M.S. degree in Computational Science and Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and his B.S. degree in Physics from Fudan University, China.

His research sits at the intersection of operations research and machine learning, building decision systems that combine prediction with large-scale optimization. His interests span supply chain and network optimization, retail pricing and revenue management, e-commerce fulfillment, and healthcare optimization for radiation therapy treatment planning, along with causal inference and generative AI for data-driven decision making.
