Himadri S. Pandey is a Ph.D. candidate in Machine Learning at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech, advised by Dr. Gian-Gabriel P. Garcia. Her research asks how organizations should allocate scarce resources, such as clinician attention, diagnostic time and monitoring capacity, when decisions are made repeatedly, under uncertainty and with imperfect data. Her work in healthcare operations and data-driven decision-making combines optimization and sequential decision models with machine learning trained for the decisions they support.

She builds these methods with the organizations that use them. With Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, she develops neural index policies that decide which pediatric ward patients should get scarce escalation and monitoring resources. With the NCAA–DoD CARE Consortium, she has designed time-constrained machine learning models for concussion diagnosis and measured the diagnostic value of baseline testing. Her work has appeared in IISE Transactions and The American Journal of Sports Medicine, and her ward-monitoring paper is under review at M&SOM. 

Before her Ph.D., she spent three years as an Applied Scientist at Lucas Systems, where she built and deployed warehouse optimization and forecasting tools. She was an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Web Services in 2025. She received her B.S. in Computer Science, with minors in Mathematics and Physics, from the University of Cincinnati. At Georgia Tech she is an ISyE Bee Well Ambassador and has served on the GSGA Mental Health Committee and the Mental Health Joint Allocation Committee.
