Smurfit Westrock, a fortune 200 company and a global leader in sustainable paper-based packaging, operates in 40 countries with over 500 packaging converting operations and 60 paper mills. The company headquartered is in Dublin, Ireland with North and South American operations based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Project Description

The Smurfit Westrock’s North America Paper Sales Division is a $4B business that has an opportunity to enhance and streamline sample management processes across two main paper businesses: Containerboard and Paperboard. Every customer requires samples and product testing prior to purchase. The goal of this project is to define clear protocols for sample inquiry, documentation, storage, labeling, fulfilment, and analysis. This project aims to refine and optimize the sample management process to not only meet customer expectations and control cost but also create a powerful touchpoint to drive customer acquisition and retention.



Several challenges exist within the current processes include consistencies in executions, aging/ excess inventory, condition of WIP (work in process) inventory that would lead to damage, and quality defect management practices.



Project may require travels to our facilities in Indiana and Virginia.
