MDMC Mission: Provide the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) with worldwide organic field level and depot-level maintenance support for rebuild, repairs, engineering solutions, modifications, calibrations, manufacturing and technical services to maximize the operational readiness, lethality, and sustainability of ground combat and combat support weapon systems and equipment.

Project Description

This project addresses a classical warehousing and inventory optimization challenge by designing a dedicated safety stock and staging solution for non-standard, historically ordered replacement parts. The selected student team will analyze historical order records to determine optimal stocking levels, design an efficient physical pick-face and shelving layout, and establish a streamlined staging area for standard 100% replacement kit boxes awaiting assembly. This comprehensive design will directly improve part availability, reduce assembly delays, and optimize overall warehouse footprint utilization.
