Catalyst Nutraceuticals is a powder-format contract manufacturer based in Buford, Georgia, serving brand customers across the nutraceutical and dietary supplement space. The company provides end-to-end manufacturing capabilities — spanning procurement, formulation, production, and quality — for a wide range of powder-based products, including functional blends, vitamins and botanicals, and specialty ingredients. Catalyst combines flexible manufacturing capacity with a strong quality and regulatory foundation to support brand partners from formulation through finished product.Project Description
There are three specific projects that we need help on.1) Scrap assessment & quality cost assessment (tying to quote sheets): Right now we use a flat rate scrap and testing costs in our quote sheets. We need to analyze the data that we have to figure out what the quality costs and scrap rates are actually; and then have it feed back to our current quotes to understand the impact on profitability. Also, we need to define an ongoing process to do this.
2) Upper Limit, Lower Limit, and Target Setpoints: We have checkweighers with data but no one is using the data. We need to analyze the data to understand process capability of the different lines; and use that to set our upper, lower, and target setpoints. This will help reduce "give away" ; which is overfill vs what we need to put in. We also need to tie it back to our quote sheets. We need to see what the data says now, adjust the quote sheets, and then also figure it out on an ongoing basis.
3) Blender Optimization: Right now we don't quote in a way that optimizes our blender. We need to a) Establish how to measure density in a way that actually mimics what is in the blender b) have it tie in to quote sheets to get to optimize order size
