Project Description
To identify and isolate the biggest roadblocks to efficiency in the processes of ordering, stocking, packing, and distributing food. In addition to this, assist with the implementation of new software for online ordering to our neighbors in need. This would include the design of our warehouse and packing station as well as the online interface and how it appears to our neighbors when ordering food, tiering inventory based on the Healthy Eating Research Guidelines, determining proper structure for our neighbor's food choice allotment, and collecting/analyzing/communicating data related to the nutritional quality of food distributed. The last step in this process will be outlining how to utilize our volunteer force in optimizing the time spent and how to ensure efficiency throughout the food distribution process.
Skills
Process improvement, technology integration, data analysis, workflow improvement, warehouse/inventory management systems and processes, knowledge of nonprofit organizations and nutrition/food safety.
