Project Description

Smurfit Westrock’s North America Paper Sales Division is a $4B business that has an opportunity to enhance the inventory management process. It is currently fragmented across systems and teams. We operate in a mostly reactive mode, with limited visibility into inventory levels, aging, demand patterns, and future risk. Inventory decisions are often based on historical snapshots or manual analysis, resulting in excess and aged inventory, stockouts, inefficient working capital utilization, and inconsistent decision-making across teams.

The objective of this inventory management project is to design and implement an integrated, data-driven inventory management capability that reduces on hand inventory, improves visibility, forecasting accuracy, and decision-making across the inventory lifecycle. This initiative will leverage predictive analytics and interactive dashboarding to enable proactive inventory planning, risk mitigation, and continuous performance optimization.
