This talk addresses historical and sociological factors contributing to gender-based imbalance of financial power and offers practical suggestions for how attendees can work within this challenging framework to advance their financial position and their domestic partnerships.  This talk is based on a number of academic interviews, research and 24 years as a financial advisor working with women breadwinners.  It also addresses top financial planning mistakes made successful women professionals and how to avoid them.

 

Meredith's Bio

Meredith Moore is the founder of Artisan Financial Strategies, LLC and has been a financial advisor for 24 years with a focus on financial planning for women in senior leadership in corporate America and women founders of small business.   She holds a Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech, is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Atlanta, a 2021 Atlanta Business Chronicle “Woman of Influence” honoree, and a member of Entrepreneurs Organization and International Women’s Forum.  She is also a board member for the Atlanta Women’s Foundation and the Clarkston Community Health Center   She has guest lectured at Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business and Emory’s Goizueta business school.  She has spoken at over a dozen Fortune 500/100 affinity groups and is a TEDx Women speaker.  Her articles on the power dynamics of money have also been published and quoted in publications such as Forbes and US News and World Report.
