Getting Started

The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is an easy to use, multi-platform software VPN Client available for Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, and Android operating systems. It is distributed from the VPN concentrators themselves for ease of deployment and software updates, while iOS and Android users can find it in their app stores.

The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is installed via the web. To install the client, click here: https://dept.vpn.gatech.edu.

  • If you are enrolled in Georgia Tech Two Factor authentication change the group to “gatech-2fa-Duo”.
  • You will be asked to log in with your GT account and password.  Do so and then Grant or Allow permissions to run the installer program.

When the install is complete, the AnyConnect client will finish the connection and you will have a Georgia Tech network address. When you are ready to end your VPN session (this will close all open network connections), press the Disconnect button in the AnyConnect client application.

Connecting using the two-factor VPN service

Once you click “Connect” the credentials window will open.  Change the group to “gatech-2fa-Duo”, if that is not the default.  This will cause a new field labeled “Second Password:” to appear.  If you enter “push” in the second password field, you should receive a push notification to your phone.  Otherwise, you can enter a code from the Duo app or your printed Backup Codes.
