The primary, unifying focus of my research is sequential decision-making under uncertainty, or stochastic optimization more broadly. My research covers various applications – from demand management in supply chains to risk analysis in security systems – with particular focus in operations management. I'm interested in the value of information and mathematical structure in deriving systematic insights and improving performance. I believe some of the most interesting research in OR is multi-disciplinary, and as such I utilize methods and concepts from many areas – dynamic programming, game theory, machine learning, simulation, information theory, etc.
