Asteroide Santana

Asteroide Santana is a Ph.D. student in Operations Research at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. He received B.S. and M.S. degree in Mathematics from Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Asteroide is particularly interested in mixed integer linear programming (MILP) and non-convex quadratically constrained quadratic programming (QCQP), and its engineering applications. Click here to learn more about his research interests and publications.

During his PhD program, Asteroide used to be actively engaged with the community by organizing seminars, giving talks and advising undergrad students. He is also a fellow coach in the One-on-One Leadership Coaching program of LEAD, the Leadership Education and Development program at Georgia Tech.

Moving forward, Asteroide is building his career in the industry as well. He has decided to join Opex Analytics as an Operation Research Consultant, from where he intends to further help to build the bridge between academia and industry.
