Established originally as a program in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech in 1924, ISyE became a School in 1945.
About 59 Academic Faculty
The Stewart School currently enrolls more than 3000 students. Over 1350 of these are undergraduates pursuing the ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) while approximately 1721 students are engaged in graduate study.
About 1541 of these graduate students are enrolled in eight School designated master's degree options while nearly 180 doctoral students are pursuing programs of study aligned with the Stewart School's nine distinct Ph.D. concentrations.
Research conducted in ISyE includes, but is not limited to, areas such as optimization, stochastic systems, manufacturing and logistics, simulation, statistics, natural systems, economic decision analysis, and system informatics and control.
Our alumni can be found around the globe in leadership positions within academia, consulting, engineering, financial services, healthcare, law, manufacturing, retailing, transportation, and more.
94.7% of our BSIE students received job offers two months prior to graduation with a median starting salary of $70,000 (based on the self-reported survey by students).
At last count, ISyE claims more than 18,000 alumni throughout the world and academe. Nearly one in 10 ISyE graduates has risen to the top position of his/her respective organization, whether as CEO, president, CFO, or even university president.
