The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering invites applications for a Research Associate position. This position will perform research in Georgia Tech's Scalable On-Demand Mobility (SOM) Group, affiliated with the Supply Chain & Logistics Institute. The candidate is to be a key contributor in modeling, optimizing, simulating, and visualizing mobility systems.
The research required for this position is to encompass four threads within this overall area: (1) to develop models, learning algorithms, optimization algorithms, simulators, and visualizations addressing targeted key problems in the assigned projects; (2) to develop significant software prototypes demonstrating the benefits of machine learning and optimization models in the space; (3) to design algorithms that exploit our high-performance computing resources in the solving of large-scale learning and optimization problems; (4) to develop mobile applications and cloud-computing platforms to showcase the research in practice.
Qualified applicants must possess a Ph.D. in computer science, industrial engineering, or related field, significant programming skills, and the desire to work in a fast and stimulated environment.
