TITLE: The Gurobi Solver

SPEAKER: Dr. Zonghao Gu

ABSTRACT:

The talk will begin with a brief introduction to Gurobi. This will be followed by a description of the product design both in terms of accessibility and the underlying algorithmic framework. This framework has been built from the ground up to provide maximum flexibility in exploiting modern strategies for solving mixed-integer programs (MIP). We will discuss our approaches to handling the key MIP issues in deterministic parallel, MIP search, cutting planes, simplex based warm-start for solving node relaxations etc. Finally, we will present computational results for the Gurobi MIP solver.

This is joint work with Bob Bixby and Ed Rothberg
