International Programs

The lab for Industrial and Systems Engineering is the world. The graduates have indicated that the best way to gain experience are professional experience and through international programs. Georgia Tech has won Paul Simon Award in 2007 in recognition of its efforts to internationalize the campus, sponsored by the Association of International Educators (NAFSA).

One can participate in International programs in many channels.

International Plan (IP) for ISyE

The Georgia Tech International Plan involves the most intensive international experience. The program to prepares graduates to succeed professionally and personally in the global economy. The challenging program contains coherent components of language, residence and academics. The program will be designated in both the transcript and the diploma. Details of IP in ISyE. Georgia Tech Semester Programs

Another very enriching international experience can be gained by participating semester programs. In semester programs, students has an option to go to many universities around the world that have exchange agreement with Georgia Tech. Students normally take some local courses that can be transferred back to GT. The knowledge of the local language is often important.

Georgia Tech Summer Programs

The summer programs are easiest to participate in international programs. Although beneficial, the knowledge of local language is normally not necessary. The most popular summer programs for ISyE students are

GT Lorraine summer program. This program occurs at the same time as GT summer semester. It offers many courses, some can be used for engineering science elective, often difficult to register in regular semesters on campus.

Oxford summer program. This program also offers many courses.

Beijing/Singapore program. This is designed for Juniors that include 3 – 4 ISyE courses and HTS 2602 Asia in Modern World, useful for Social Science elective. The ISyE courses includes 3103 Logistics, 3104 Manufacturing, and one of 4803 Economic Decision Anlysis, 3039 Quality Assurance, …).
