Requirements for a Course on the Environment Industrial and Systems Engineering

ISyE requires that a BSIE student have a course that deals with the environment.  Accordingly, with the following list, we provide a sample of acceptable course options that will satisfy this requirement. 

ENVIRONMENTAL COURSES WHICH MAY BE USED AS ONE OF YOUR:

4-HOUR LAB SCIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

BIOL 1510 - Biological Principles
EAS 1600 - Introduction to Environmental Science
EAS 1601 - Habitable Plant
EAS 2600 - Earth Processes
EAS 4110 - Resources, Energy and Environment

SOCIAL SCIENCE ELECTIVES:

ECON 4440 - Economics of Environment
HTS 3005 - American Environmental History
INTA 4040 - Environmental Politics
PUBP 4338 - Environmental Impact Assessment

ENGINEERING ELECTIVES:

CEE 2300 - Environmental Engineering Principles
CEE 4300 - Environmental Engineering Systems

FREE ELECTIVES (Courses listed above may be used as free elective also):

BIOL 2335 - General Ecology
EAS 2420 - Environmental Measures
EAS 2602 - Earth Through Time
EAS 2750 - Physics of the Weather
ISyE 4803 - Energy and Environmental Analysis
PHYS 2750 - Physics of the Weather
PUBP 3600 - Sustainability, Technology, and Policy 

There are other courses offered at Tech from time to time that will meet this requirement.  If you find a course that you wish to take and feel that the content qualifies, please ask Valarie, Fran or Patti in the ISyE office for approval prior to enrolling.
