The Stewart School offers great breadth and depth in terms of faculty interest areas and concentrations which, in turn, produces substantial flexibility for graduate students in terms of course offerings and importantly, research opportunities that support their respective degree choices. This is captured by the links below.

The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering includes a Ph.D. program for Applied Statistics, with emphasis on the use of statistics in a technological environment. In the Applied Statistics Program, a student may specialize in a specific area of application such as manufacturing statistics, reliability and quality control, simulation, or more traditional areas of statistical research. Students in this program study the mathematics needed for advanced work in probability and statistics as well as necessary advanced work in an application area. Graduates typically go on to careers on university facilities in statistics, engineering, or management, as well as in industry or government positions as researchers or consultants.
The Ph.D. program of study is determined by the student and his or her advisor. The M.S. program of study is outlined within the Statistics at Georgia Tech website. A typical program of study will include the courses required for the M.S. Statistics degree and additional theoretical and advanced statistical courses. The program should also include some courses in stochastics and optimization methodology, as well as courses in engineering applications areas where there are related statistical issues.
