The Stewart School offers great breadth and depth in terms of faculty interest areas and concentrations which, in turn, produces substantial flexibility for graduate students in terms of course offerings and importantly, research opportunities that support their respective degree choices. This is captured by the links below.

The economic decision analysis (EDA) Ph.D. concentration in ISyE focuses on decision-making models that integrate the economic, strategic and operational perspectives of the firm. Our research explicitly incorporates the market structure within which the firm operates, namely, by considering how the firm's behavior affects and is affected by the degree and nature of the competition. Research topics include revenue management, pricing strategies, auction strategies and the use of auctions in e-marketplaces, supply chain contracts and coordination, strategic sourcing and procurement, strategic investment in R&D, productivity measurement and analysis, and e-commerce. Specific details regarding the EDA recommended program of study can be found at Economic Decision Analysis.
The economic decision analysis group is also closely affiliated with Georgia Tech's Quantitative and Computational Finance Program, whose curricula teaches students how to apply our basic engineering tools (optimization, stochastic analysis and simulation) in the design, development and implementation of financial products and risk management strategies. In fact, qualified students may wish to seek formal admission to the MSQCF degree program. This option can be pursued independently as a master's student or during one's Ph.D. program of study. Much activity surrounds research topics in the emerging field of financial engineering including asset pricing, portfolio optimization, energy pricing models, and real option models for capital investment.
